Panel Discussion in Gourri: 29 September, 2007

The Panel Discussion was organized by the Cyprus Adult Education Association at the ‘Revekka’ Restaurant in Gourri village on Saturday, 29 September at 6.30 pm. Topic of the Discussion was ‘a Multi-National and Multi-Ethnic Cyprus’.

The Panel Discussion was opened by the mayor of Gourri village. A total of 45 people attended the event; the 20 visitors from USA, 10 from Gourri village, and 15 from Nicosia.

Klitos Symeonides gave a presentation about in which ways and with what means various bodies promote a peaceful and a multicultural society in Cyprus. A major focus of the open discussion was the values of the European Union, especially with their relation to Human Rights of all citizens residing in the European Union. European citizenship was discussed as an important element for active citizens to work together for international peace.
