Gary Gumpert and Susan Drucker, offered a seminar on Media Literacy at the Fulbright Centre on Monday, 16 July 2007 during their visit to Cyprus. The seminar, was co-organised by the Civil Society Dialogue Project and the Talk of the Island project. It started at 18.30 and was followed by a reception.

The Media Literacy seminar included such aspects of the media as professionalism, transparency, ideal media landscape and diagnose problems which the media faces in terms of independency. Furthermore, following issues had been discussed: what is media and its mediums, media literacy, media ethics, what is manipulation: where to draw the line. At the end, the lecturers gave a questions and answers session. The seminar provided the opportunity to further the dialogue between Cypriots and a basis for future collaboration in media projects. Participation was strongly encouraged for all members of the media community.
