Every Wednesday, between 8.30 and 9 am, Danae Psilla and Giorgos Pavlides, discuss issues around the socially constructed concept of "otherness". The show seeks to explore elements of diversity that are portrayed in minorities, groups of people, and individuals that live in Cyprus.
Focus
This show tried to look into how people get to perceive the "other" and the "self", and how this can vary depending on the socio-politico-economic context upon which one finds her or himself in, at a particular moment in time.
Guest Speaker
Dr. Nicos Trimikliniotis: is Scientific Director of the Cyprus focal point of the European Information Network on Racism and Xenophobia (RAXEN). He is currently also a senior expert of Cyprus Fundamental Rights Agency Legal Experts and expert on Cyprus in the EU Network of Experts on Free Movement of Workers. He manages the Centre for the Study of Migration, Interethnic and Labour Relations, University of Nicosia and is project leader on reconciliation, discrimination and migration at PRIO Cyprus Centre.
