The conference "Internet Addiction and other online Dangers" took place at the premises of the Frederick University in Cyprus on the 2nd of November 2011. It was co-organized by Social Work Department of Frederick University Cyprus and the [[Cyberethics: Cyprus Safer Internet Center|Cyberethics} team of the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute.


Description

The conference was organized in order to promote safer internet within Greek speaking university students in Cyprus (mainly of the Frederick university) and also to raise awareness on Internet Addiction and other online dangers. Participants included university students, a number of journalists and academics. The speakers also included the Head of the Cyber Crime unit of the Cyprus police and the Minister of Education and Culture of Cyprus.
