Executive Summary

During the period 11, 26 September and 12 November, three consultation meetings - workshops have been conducted at Cyprus Green party's premises with all interested stakeholders in-order to analyse and identify the reasons of why even though many citizens appreciate and respect the ideas of the Greens they do not get involved or support the movement with their votes when needed.

The Triggering Question (TQ) of the first workshop was:

"Ποιοι είναι οι λόγοι που παρόλο που πολλοί πολίτες εκτιμούν και σέβονται τις ιδέες του Κινήματος των Οικολόγων Περιβαλλοντιστών, δεν εμπλέκονται και δε στηρίζουν με την ψήφο τους όταν χρειάζεται;"

In response to the TQ, the 13 participants came up with 89 challenges, which were categorized in 13 clusters. Following the voting process, 30 ideas received one or more votes and were structured to create the influence MAP shown below.

According to the participants of this workshop, the reasons that appear to be the most influential were:

• Reason #11: Έχουν έλλειψη πολλαπλών ικανών προσώπων.
  
• Reason #2: Το σύνδρομο της χαμένης ψήφου..
  
• Reason #15: Κομματική πόλωση..
  
• Reason #27: Συχνά πυκνά λαϊκίζουμε.
  
• Reason #3: Κομμάτι του συστήματος.
  
• Reason #8: Έλλειψη συναισθηματικού δεσμού με τους πολίτες.
  
• Reason #7: Δεν βλέπουν να έχουν οποιοδήποτε άμεσο και προσωπικό κέρδος.
  
• Reason #9: Μικρό κόμμα μικρό εκτόπισμα.
  
• Reason #16: Ο τρόπος που εκφραζόμαστε δεν ταιριάζει στο προφίλ ενός πράσινου ψηφοφόρου.
  
• Reason #19: Σκέφτονται ότι δεν θα αλλάξει κάτι.
  
• Reason #23: Δεν έχουν πείσει ότι μπορούν να κυβερνήσουν ή να επιλύσουν σοβαρά προβλήματα.
  
• Reason #34: Απουσία οικολογικής παιδείας στα δημοτικά.
  
• Reason #35: Θεωρούν ότι οι οικολόγοι δεν θα έπρεπε να ήταν κόμμα.
  
• Reason #45: Οριζόντια ψήφος.
  

The workshop was mainly facilitated by Yiannis Laouris and Katerina Fotiou. In sum, the participants of the dialogue reported their satisfaction that they had the opportunity to exchange ideas regarding the reasons of why they don't get much supported when needed and got a visual representation on how they could address the obstacle.
