About

Mireille Hildebrandt is Professor of Smart Environments, Data Protection and the Rule of Law at the institute for Computing and Information Sciences (iCIS), Rad- boud University Nijmegen. She is Associate Professor of Jurisprudence at the Eras- mus School of Law, Rotterdam and senior researcher at Law Science Technology & Society studies, Vrije Universiteit Brussels. As a lawyer and a philosopher she pub- lishes widely on the nexus of information law, philosophy of law and philosophy of technology. She co-edited Profiling and the European Citizen (Springer 2008), together with Serge Gutwirth, Law, Human Agency and Autonomic Computing (Routledge 2011), together with Antoinette Rouvroy, Human Law and Computer Law (Springer 2013), together with Jeanne Gaakeer, and Privacy and Due Process after the Compuational Turn (Routledge 2013), together with Katja de Vries. She is editor in chief of the Netherlands Journal of Legal Philosophy and a founding member of the Digital Enlightenment Forum.
