A community transformator, Thomael has an extensive involvement in community projects, and various awards to attest for her commitment to it including the prestigious New York City Urban Fellowship, and the Audre Lorde Award for socially conscious poetry from Hunter College. | |||

Thomael Ioannides came to Cyprus as a Visiting Fulbright Scholar and served as an intern to the Technology for Peace project which was implemented by the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute in 2003, having received a Fulbright Scholarship to conduct some research in Cyprus.Award for socially conscious writing (Hunter College). Thomael volunteered as an intern to the Youth Activism and JUMPSTART - Youth Peace Campaign in Cyprus programs between 2009 and 2010.
