Mrs. Kiyal Eresen served as an intern at the Future Worlds Center from May 2011 to August 2011, as a first-year student from Macalester College studying Linguistics as an undergraduate student. She helped in various projects run by the Future Worlds Center such as JUMPSTART the Peace, MobLang and Cyberethics: Cyprus Safer Internet Center. During the her internship, she was mentored by Melis Eroglu.
Biography
Prior to college period, Kiyal has participated in several bi-communal activities and programs such as JUMPSTART the Peace and OneStreets festival as organization assistant, as well as serving as a board member for the youth organization Adalı Gençlik. She has work experience as teaching assistant for a private English teacher in the North. She is currently working as a student manager in the Macalester College Library, and will start working for the inaugurating program of Macalester College Sophomore Leadership Program this fall of 2011.
Future Worlds Center Projects
Kiyal participated in the mobile language-learning project of MobLang and assisted in the construction and the rectification of the scripts within the application, along with the research done for the follow-up project application. She also undertook several tasks for other projects of CyberEthics and TeachMDGs. These tasks included researching and translation. For the purpose of a thorough immersion in the impetus of the organization, she gained knowledge of all the projects and their dynamics of working by compiling an inclusive list.
