Ms. Rahme Veziroglu served as the Civil Society Coordinator for project Act Beyond Borders between November 2012 - October 2013. Her role included identifying experts from the North part of Cyprus and engaging them in the project activities (trainings, workshops, panel discussions). Together with the Project Coordinator, she supported the local Israeli and Palestinian project partners in the implementation of the project activities. Lastly, she helped with the identification of human rights civil society actors for the Final Conference.

Short Bio

Ms. Rahme was born in Famagusta, Cyprus. Following her primary education in Cyprus, she got her bachelor's degree (magna cum laude) on Sociology at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. Throughout her studies in Turkey, she has been involved in various volunteer projects on different matters such as animal welfare, ecological justice, education and human rights. She continued her studies with a MSc. degree at the University of Amsterdam on Social Theory and Public Affairs. After graduation she travelled extensively throughout Central America where she took part in several community projects on agriculture and education. She has been working as a freelancer in Cyprus since 2009. Her work involves research for various local and international NGOs on the issues of human rights, discrimination and reconciliation; fixing and interpretation for international journalists and documentary makers to create a relevant network of individuals/organizations on various issues concerning Cyprues; documentary-making, project coordination and consultancy.
