The idea for the establishment of a neuroscience institute in Cyprus was conceived for the first time in Paphos in 1988 when [[Yiannis Laouris]], [[Uwe Windhorst]] and [[Hans Diedrich Henatsch]] organized in Cyprus a symposium called [[Symposium Perspectives in Motor Control|Perspectives in Motor Control]].
