Short Description

A concluding project symposium will be organised in Cyprus, bringing together the project partners as well as representatives from one of the twinned school-pairs to present their school’s commitment to the MDGs and to showcase the teaching resources developed during the project. Participants will also be teachers from the partner countries and a guest speaker from sub-Saharan Africa who is highly respected and actively engaged in promoting the MDGs. A component of this symposium will be to critically reflect on each participating country’s progress with regards to integrating development education and the MDGs to the school curriculum. Furthermore, the symposium will invite representatives of the Ministries of Education and the teacher training institutes to share their experience and positions. Additionally, the project partners together with the teachers, teacher trainers and pupils involved in the project will develop a set of recommendations for the inclusion of development education in general, and MDGs in particular into the school curriculum. These recommendations will be submitted to relevant Ministries of Educations. More information about the project at www.TeachMDGs.net
