Fatema Islam initially joined the Humanitarian Affairs Unit of the Future Worlds Center in June 2013 as an intern social worker. She has been working closely with Manos Mathioudakis, the Social advisor, and offering social assistance to vulnerable social group, particularly to asylum seekers and refugees, within the framework of the UNHCR funded project entitled Strengthening Asylum. She takes part in the case management and provision of social assistance to the beneficiaries of the Unit for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture.
