Michalis Ioannou joined Future Worlds Center in January 2015 as a Communications Officer and contributed significantly to the project Strengthening Asylum, funded by the Federal Republic of Germany, by undertaking various public information and integration activities.
His main duties and responsibilities included:
- To provide administrative support to the Humanitarian Affairs Unit.
- To organize social inclusion and support activities at the Kofinou Reception Center.
- To facilitate capacity-building workshops, conferences, and weekly Greek language lessons for beneficiaries of international protection.
- To drafted and disseminated media articles.
Short Bio
Michalis holds a BA in Humanities from Essex University and a M.Sc. in Anthropology of International Development and Humanitarian Assistance. He joined the Future Worlds Center in January 2015 as a Communications Officer of one of the major projects of the Humanitarian Affairs Unit entitled the ‘’Improvement of the Situation of Asylum Seekers in Cyprus’’, funded by the embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. His work encircled around two major spheres; raising public awareness and the empowerment and integration of beneficiaries of international protection and asylum seekers.
