The conference was organized in order to promote safer internet within English speaking schools in Cyprus, among students (mainly of the European university) and also to support delegates from Armenia, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Israel and Georgia in their efforts to promote safer internet in their respective countries. Participants included high school students from 6 English speaking secondary school of Cyprus, academics, university students (mainly from the European University where the conference was organized), representatives from civil society organizations, a number of journalists and 6 international delegates. The speakers also included [[Marcos Nikolettis]], Head of the [[Cyber Crime unit of the Cyprus police]] and [[Anastasia Economou]], Head of the Education Technology Department of the [[Cyprus Pedagogical Institute of Cyprus]].
