For her MA thesis that Pelin received from Utrecht University on Conflict Studies and Human Rights, she stayed 3,5 months in Cyprus at the [[Future Worlds Center]] to do the related field research. The research was mainly about the identity of the Turkish Cypriots vis a vis Turkish nationals and Greek Cypriots. The thesis is titled "Identity and Alterity in Northern Cyprus-redefining Turkish Cypriot identity".
