He is a renowned peace activist recognized for his pioneering work in applying virtual technologies and innovative systemic methodologies to foster collaboration among stakeholders with diverse and conflicting perspectives. His efforts are focused on helping these groups create shared visions for ideal futures, identify obstacles to achieving these visions, and explore solutions to overcome these challenges. Utilizing digital technologies and Structured Democratic Dialogue, Laouris harnesses collective intelligence and wisdom to reimagine and redesign humanity’s future based on principles of freedom, equality, and justice. His approach integrates complexity and systems science with the advantages of the digital era. | ||
Laouris and his team are at the forefront of developing systems that scale participatory dialogue processes. These systems engage thousands of participants asynchronously in meaningful, authentic conversations, thereby accelerating positive societal change. The Future Worlds Center has successfully implemented over 120 global projects focused on ideal futures, peace, and human rights. He is one of the twelve authors of the ONLIFE Manifesto, which explores how the deployment of ICTs profoundly affects the human condition by altering our relationships with ourselves, others, and the world. In the 90s, he founded CYBER Kids, an international chain of franchised computer learning centers, which introduced IT to thousands of children in eight countries using a novel scientific approach grounded on cybernetics. This initiative aimed to foster creativity, innovation, imagination, and problem-solving skills, thereby advancing the educational and political landscape of Cyprus and seven other countries. The curriculum impacted thousands of children and emphasized the integration of IT with positive social change to enhance the educational experience. | Laouris and his team are at the forefront of developing systems that scale participatory dialogue processes.
