OAKE-Associates is a non-profit enterprise working in the area of research and development, providing technical assistance, management and training and development for organisations within the European Union and in the developing world. The focus of activities is work with people experiencing social exclusion; providing innovative actions and developments that offer opportunities for economic and social integration.

OAKE Associates was formed in 2009. An organisation borne out of the ethos of OAKE Europe Ltd, an organisation with many years experience at managing EU projects such as EQUAL, INTERREG, ESF, LdV TOI, Grundtvig, LLL Partnerships. The main Directors are fully conversant and experienced in EU funding streams and their management and reporting requirements.

OAKE have worked recently on EU funded youth programmes including Once Against Abandon which looked at why young people abandon school and how innovative methodologies can regain young people passion through media

OAKE staff has been working for 15 years in the general area of youth support this includes the development of informal education related to young people at risk. In particular we have wide experience of young people who are at risk of drug and substance misuse.

We work in partnership work with Manchester, Stockport and Rochdale Youth Services developing and delivering innovative support programmes for those most at risk. We also work in partnership with a number of local voluntary and community youth groups such as Greater Manchester Youth Network and the Core User Group who support disabled young people.

In the area of media we collaborate with local media specialists The Peoples Voice Media who aim to bring the use of new technologies and the media to those most excluded. This uses the philosophy of “technology in their pocket” (that is technology that people will actually use) to work with young excluded people.

We also have an associated who is a specialist Marketing and PR person for the NGO sector. She has experience and skills in working with the local and national media.
