Every Wednesday, between 8.30 and 9 am, Danae Psilla and Giorgos Pavlides, discuss issues around the socially constructed concept of "otherness". The show seeks to explore elements of diversity that are portrayed in minorities, groups of people, and individuals that live in Cyprus.
Focus
This show looked into the characteristics of the Cypriot Maronite Language, spoken only by the people who live in Kormakitis village, and the efforts of the community to keep the language alive.
Guest Speaker
Antonis Skoullos: was born in Kormakitis, a Maronite village that is now under occupation, and grew up speaking the Cypriot Maronite Language (CML). He is an active member in the Maronite community's effort to restore the Maronite Language and has been the main assistant of Professor Alexander Borg, an linguist specialising on Arabic dialects.
