Pier-Luigi Emiliani is currently Associated Research Director in the Institute of Applied Physics "Nello Carrara" (IFAC) of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy. Previously he was Director of the CNR Research Institute "Electromagnetic Waves (IROE)" (1997-2002); Director of the CNR Research Institute "Applied Physics - Nello Carrara (IFAC)" (2002-2008); President of the Florence CNR Area (2002-2008).

He has experience in the theory and applications of digital signal processing and information technology, with main emphasis o applications of ICT in eInclusion and on ambient intelligence.

He is co-author of over 180 scientific and technical papers.

Pier-Luigi Emiliani currently serves as a member of the N.E.T.S Board of Trustees.
