Dr. Eugenia Vathakou is a well-known Greek scholar active for at least a decade in peace as well as development issues. Since 2004 she has worked in different countries (e.g. FYROM, Kosovo, Turkey, Egypt, Uganda, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan), as responsible for the planning, manager and evaluator of development and peace building projects funded by the EU, UNDP, UNICEF and Hellenic Aid.

She has extensive experience in planning and implementing civil society capacity building programs in Greece and abroad, being herself a trainer and consultant. She has represented the Hellenic Platform for Development at the EU level, participating in CONCORD's working groups DEF and EPAN. From 2008-2011, she was member of the Advisory Group of the EU program TRIALOG (www.trialog.or.at), which aimed to contribute to the mobilisation of more public support in new EU Member States, Accession and Candidate countries for actions against poverty and for equal relations between developing and developed countries through Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) as multipliers. From 2011, she is the national coordinator for Greece of the Global Education Week of the North-South Center of the Council of Europe. She is also the author of the book "Crises and Peace Processes as Autopoietic Systems in World Society: Examples from Greek-Turkish Relations".

From her post in Development and Education Centre European Perspective, Eugenia collaborated with Future Worlds Center as an independent EU project evaluator in the framework of the following projects:
