Eliane Torres has been with FWC between March and July 2008. She served as Assistant Coordinator in various projects. Her particular interest was in promoting development education in Africa. She was involved in organising events, training sessions and workshops, and invested time in writing up funding applications. Previously she worked at KISA (June 2007 – December 2007), the consular section of the Embassy of Portugal, spent a month as Short Term Election Observer in Togo and as Intern at the European Commission.
Biography
Eliana is currently Country Director at The International Foundation for Electoral Systems in Burkina Fas.
Before heading of for positions all over the globe, Eliane completed a Law degree (1999 – 2005) at the University of Minho, a post graduate degree in Humanitarian Aid and Cooperation (2005 – 2006) at the same university and a European Masters in Human Rights and Democratisation (2006 – 2007) at the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation at Universidade Moderna de Lisboa
