Helene Josephides
Helene Josephides is a member of the Global Education Unit of Future Worlds Center since 2017. She is Project Coordinator for two projects: Global Education Goes Local and MigratED, both funded by the EU.
She is a jurist, specialised on International Law and International Human Rights. She studied law at Universite Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne in Paris (France) and did her Masters in the University of Toronto (Canada) and the Irish Centre of Human Rights in Galway (Ireland).
She has always been interested in Global Education. In 2014 she led a two years long personal initiative for the promotion of children rights through theatre and puppet theatre in Latin America, called On the road for childhood/En ruta por la infancia (https://www.facebook.com/enruta.porlainfancia/). The project reached more than 15.000 children across 15 countries in Latin America and focused on issues such as education, gender equality, and environmental protection. She has also worked as a political officer for the European Union Delegation to Chile and as an independent researcher for the EU Delegation to Guatemala. Her interest for democracy and human rights also led her to participate to two election observation missions of the EU to Paraguay and Madagascar.
She speaks fluently Greek, French, English and Spanish. She is also a member of the theatre company Canicula Puppets.
