Future Worlds Center received the Global Education Innovation Award 2017 which is an annual award given by GENE – Global Education Network Europe to projects which have a strongly innovative character. The award is accompanied by a 10,000 euro gift to be used for an innovative extension of the project.

GENE is a European network of Ministries, Agencies and other national bodies responsible for support, funding and policy-making in the field of Global Education. It includes over 40 Ministries, Agencies and other national bodies, from over 25 countries. In 2017, Future Worlds Center received the Global Education Innovation Award for the project Map Your Meal.

People who can claim ownership of this award

Primarily, the members of the Board and relevant advisory boards may claim credit for this award. But also all members of Future Worlds Center involved in the activities for which the award was given may mention this award in their respective CVs as a collective recognition of their work and contributions. Special recognition is given to the members of the Global Education Unit and the New Media Lab of Future Worlds Center for developing and testing the smartphone application.
