Relation to Future Worlds Center

Partners with Future Worlds Center in Global Education Goes Local (GEGL) project.

The Institute for African Studies (IAS) is a non-profit organisation operating at national and international level with a team that includes more than 50 Slovenian and foreign experts. Every year, the Institute participates in several projects, individually or in cooperation with local and international partners. The projects are focused mainly in the fields listed below.

  • Advocacy, Volunteering & Working with Youth

As an educational and research centre, we strive to develop and apply GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES to fields such as discrimination, advocacy, social justice and migration. To this end, our work focuses on current social, economic and environmental issues, migration, integration, development collaboration, global learning, humanitarian aid, intercultural dialogue, diversity and combating discrimination, monitoring, global health access, media and advocacy.

Migration is a lasting contingency that has existed as long as humankind and will continue to persist in all societies.

Activities include several projects in primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, and community youth centres.

  • Volunteering

The Institute's doors are always open. Any person interested in working with us is welcome to join us as a volunteer.
