Yiannis Laouris is CEO of Future Worlds Center, a Cyprus-based CSO whose vision is to consciously re-design humanity's futures to construct a world based on values of freedom, equality and justice, using complexity and systems science and harnessing the positives of the digital era. Laouris is also leading several high-tech companies and is Founding and/or Member of many Boards in domains that involve positive social change, especially in the context of the socio-technical revolution in which we are immersed. He is one of the 12 authors of the ONLIFE Manifesto, and he promotes the application of digital technologies and Structured Democratic Dialogue (SDD) as tools to harness the collective intelligence and collective wisdom of people. His team develops systems to scale up participatory dialogic processes to engage thousands of participants asynchronously in meaningful, authentic dialogues, thus accelerating institutional and societal change. He leads global projects, engaging thousands to Re-inventing Democracy and Education in the Digital Era. He has published in neuroscience, applied systems science and peace, and in the neuroscience of learning; several books and over 100 scientific papers have been honoured with more than 12 distinguished awards.
