Thomael Ioannides was an intern to the Technology For Peace project which was implemented by the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute in 2003.

Thomael has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and English (Creative Writing) and an MS in Urban Affairs. With a strong community involvement, paying particular attention to the youth, Thomael has worked both in her native USA as well as in Cyprus on youth empowerment projects, concentrating on improving life conditions and inculcating skills of conflict resolution and mediation. A community transformator, Thomael has an extensive involvement in community projects, and various awards to attest for her commitment to it. Among others she has also received the Audre Lorde Award for socially conscious writing (Hunter College).
