Douglas Stuart was a Founding Member for the establishment of the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute and served as Member of the Board between 1991 and 1999, and between 2000-present as member of the International Advisory Board.
Prof. Stuart is a Regents' Professor Emeritus of Physiology at the University of Arizona. He was a founding member of the College of Medicine. He is one of the world's leading electrophysiological investigators of the spinal motor control system, the neurobiology of muscle fatigue and the history of movement neuroscience.
Launching the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute
Prof. Stuart played an important role for the founding and launching of operations of the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute. He joined in the Symposium Perspectives in Motor Control, which was the historical moment for the later establishment of the Institute. He has visited and reviewed and supervised operations of both the Institute and the CYBER KIDS project several times between the launching and 2001.
