Dr. Timotheos Papadopoulos is Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology of the Department of Psychology of the university of Cyprus. He completed his uundergraduate studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Bachelor of Education, 1992) and graduate studies at the University of Alberta, Canada (MEd, 1995 and Ph.D., 1998, in Educational Psychology), where he worked as Research Associate at the JP Das Developmental Disabilities Centre (1993-1998). Awards among others: the Andrew Stewart Memorial Graduate Prize, University of Alberta (in recognition of excellence in research) (1997-1998) and the Best Presentation Award at the International Council of Psychologists (1996) in Canada. His research interests are: reading development and acquisition of reading skills, reading difficulties and subtypes of reading difficulties, cognitive profiles of at-risk readers, diagnosis and remediation of reading difficulties, cognitive planning and planning skills of children with attention deficits.
