Summary

To bridge the knowledge and experience gap between Paphian youth and peace builders in North and South Nicosia, four workshops were organized through this project. Held in Paphos, Polis Chrysochous, and Pyrgos/Pomos, these workshops occurred in January and February 2005. Approximately eighty high school students, aged 15-17, from Paphos took part in these bi-communal development workshops.

Main Objectives

  • "Produce" a pool of young peace-builders in the Paphos region;
  • Educate, inform, and train Paphian youth in issues related to communication, conflict resolution, and mediation;
  • Create friendships, connections, and communication bridges between Paphians and GC/TC peace-builders;
  • Help the closed society of Paphos to open to new ideas, increase their understanding of human rights, multiculturalism, and European values.
