Ilke Dagli

Ms. Ilke Dagli was the North Coordinator for the UNDP funded project Civil Society Dialogue, in which she collaborates with Tatjana Taraszow (in charge for the South). Ms. Dagli has a Bachelor in Political Science. She is a trained SDDP facilitator with extensive experience in co-laboratories involving politicians, economists and media people. She works closely with Aleco Christakis, President of the Institute for 21st Century Agoras in furthering the applicability of structured dialogue.
İlke has been a peace practitioner and researcher for over 16 years and a peace activist for over two decades. She has degree in European and International Politics from University of Northumbria, an MSc in Security and Development from the University of Bristol, and a PhD on Security, Identity and Peacebuilding from the University of Warwick. Before her academic career at Warwick and Exeter Universities, where she taught World Politics and International Principles of Business respectively, Ilke worked as a project coordinator, project developer, consultant and facilitator for civil society and small-medium enterprise development projects in partnership with UN and EU agencies as well as a consultant for polling companies in Cyprus. She co-authored and coordinated myriad successful peacebuilding programmes such as The Civil Society Dialogue, Cyprus Community Media Centre, Access Info Cyprus, Play for Peace and ENGAGE Do Your Part for Peace. İlke’s peace work dates back to 1996 as a youth activist. In 2007, Ilke started to work with Cyprus EU Association and Future Worlds Centre and then continued her practitioner work in Cyprus until 2012, after which she moved to the UK for her PhD. Her work in Cyprus did not stop during her academic career but transformed from practice to scholarly work. İlke joined SeeD as a Senior Security Researcher in 2016 and worked on the Security Dialogue Initiative (SDI). SDI was an evidence-based novel initiative that supported the peace negotiations and Track 1 towards a shared understanding around endogenous resilience and transitionary security arrangements. İlke transitioned into the role of Head of Programmes and Field Operations in 2017, overseeing SeeD's global programmes and research efforts as well as R&D work on constructive citizenship and economic resilience. İlke continues to serve as one of the senior executives as SeeD as the Head of Partnerships and Growth, and provides mentorship to different programmes with a focus on Ukraine and Cyprus portfolios.
