The international conference "Connecting Generations - Discover the digital world together...safely!" took place at the premises of the European University Cyprus on the 17th of November 2011. It was co-organized by World Vision and the Cyberethics team of the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute.


Description

The conference was organized in order to promote safer internet within English speaking schools in Cyprus, among students (mainly of the European university) and also to support delegates from Armenia, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Israel and Georgia in their efforts to promote safer internet in their respective countries. Participants included high school students from 6 English speaking secondary school of Cyprus, academics, university students (mainly from the European University where the conference was organized), representatives from civil society organizations, a number of journalists and 6 international delegates. The speakers also included Markos Nikolettis, Head of the Police Department - Cyber Crime Unit and Anastasia Economou, Head of the Education Technology Department of the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute.
