George Tziapouras is an independent non-profit organization Management Professional who serves as Member of Future Worlds Board since 2002. He is currently working at the European Parliament. He served as Project Coordinator for the Technology for Peace project and as an expert for Ekkotek High-tech business incubator.
Role in Tech4Peace project
Mr. George Tziapouras served as the Project Coordinator for the Technology for Peace project between 2000-2002 and subsequently as the Project Coordinator for a HasNa Inc. (Washington DC) funded project known as Reconciliation Now!. His experience in conceptualizing and utilizing electronic infrastructures for developing and publicizing content enabled him to apply his knowledge in the service of Peace. Apart from his involvement with Technology for Peace, he has served as member of many bi-communal peace-building groups and initiatives as well as member of the Coordinating Committee of the Citizens' Movement for Re-unification and Co-existence.
Role in Ekkotek
George was in charge of a Euromed project called Med.Pride.
Short Bio
George Tziapouras is a Political Scientist. His academic background is in Political Science (BA) and International Politics (MA) from Kent State University, Ohio, USA ( 1990 – 1997). Prior to his involvement with Technology for Peace he worked as Development Manager at Kompass, Cyprus, franchisee of Kompass International (www.kompass.com), which is considered to be the biggest B2B electronic information system in the world. He is currently working at the European Parliament as Assistant to Takis Hadjigeorgiou.
