The Institute of Technology was founded by the Vasilliou government to promote R&D in Cyprus. It was chaired by Dr. George Christodoulides and later by Dr. Costas Konis. The Institute co-organized with the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute the 1st and 2nd Innovation-Technology-Social Progress Fair in 1993 and 1994 respectively.
The Institute was replaced by the Research promotion Foundation.
