The Bicommunal 1998 Internet Training Workshop was held 20-23 July, 1998 in Nicosia, Cyprus. It was part of the Using Technology for Virtual Negotiation and Peace project, which was supported by grant to the Institute of World Affairs chaired by Hrach Gregorian. The grant was funded by the United States Institute of Peace and the USAID. This training workshop began with an introduction to computer technology and communication, the internet, and Microsoft Windows 95. Once participants had a sound foundation in the aforementioned basics, trainers were introduced the Technology for Peace philosophy, the newly installed server to support their peace work, and especially its capabilities, i.e., offer e-mails to all peace builders, serve as Internet Relay Chat (IRC), and utilizing the internet for research. After the training workshop an informative report was produced to further disseminate information provided in this training workshop.
