The SDD Credit Point System documents the many alternative ways by which any practitioner can earn credits for the SDD Certification Scheme. These are described below:


Certification as Candidate SDD co-Facilitator

The basic requirements for anyone who aspires to join the SDD community include participation in SDDPs and studying the theoretical background. Application can be made, and certificate will be issued when at least 6 credits have been earned. Certification status is however fulfilled when at least 10 credits have been accumulated.

Credits can be earned in the following ways:

Process Credits Description
Participate in a regular SDDP Max 4 Regular means an SDDP with all steps implemented and awards 2 credits. For participation in a shorter, i.e., demonstration SDDP, and/or for preparation of an SDDP Report, and/or for learning how to use the supporting ISM Software, up to 2 credits maybe awarded upon recommendation of the Certified SDD Facilitator conducting the SDDP. A maximum of 4 credits can be earned through participation in SDDPs and related activities.
Secure a Mentor 1 Any Certified SDD Facilitator has the right to serve as Mentor for both Candidate and Certified co-Facilitators.
Attend an SDD School or equivalent Max 6 Participation in a regular (i.e., at least 3-day long) SDD School awards 2 credits. For apprenticeship with self-study a max of 3 credits can be earned upon recommendation of the Mentor. Up to 6 credits can be earned through SDD School participation or verified self-study.
Serve as Broker to organize an SDDP Max 2 The Evaluation Committee decides based on the complexity of the event. Playing an instrumental role towards organizing an SDD School awards 2 credits. A max of 2 credits can be earned through this process.
Attend the Certified Systemic Analyst Professional program Max 6 A student who completes the SDD module of the program (including the exam) earns 2 credits. A max of 4 credits can be earned if a student conducts her/his project on Dialogic Design Science. A past CSAP graduate can apply for 6 credits provided they do not overlap with credits earned for participation in the same program.

Certification as Certified SDD co-Facilitator

A Certified SDD co-Facilitator works together with a Certified SDD Facilitator and should be able to replace her/him in all roles. To apply for this status one should either already have, or comply with the requirements of the previous status. Application can be made, and certificate will be issued when at least 6 additional credits have been earned. Certification status is however fulfilled when at least 10 additional credits have been accumulated.

Additional credits can be earned in the following ways:

Process Credits Description
Participate in a regular SDDP Max 2 Participation in a regular (i.e., an SDDP with all steps implemented) awards 1 credit. A maximum of 2 credits can be earned through this process.
Co-facilitate SDDPs Max 4 Serve as Co-facilitator in one SDDP awards 2 credits.
Serve as Member of a KMT Max 2 Participate as member of a KMT in charge of organizing an SDDP awards 1 credit. A maximum of 2 credits can be earned through this process.
Understand the functionalities and command the usage of ISM Software such as IdeaPrism Cogniscope, Concertina or equivalent 2 Working with any Certified SDD Facilitator during one or more SDDPs and be fully in charge of the technology.
Attend an SDD School or equivalent Max 4 Participation in a regular (i.e., at least 3-day long) SDD School awards 2 credits. For apprenticeship with self-study a max of 2 credits can be earned upon recommendation of the Mentor. Up to 4 credits can be earned through SDD School participation and/or verified self-study.
Serve as Broker to organize an SDDP Max 2 The Evaluation Committee decides based on the complexity of the event. Playing an instrumental role towards organizing an SDD School awards 2 credits. A max of 2 credits can be earned through this process.
Prepare SDD Reports Max 2 A key role towards the preparation of a professional SDDP Report earns 1 credit.
Participate in research activities Max 2 Participation in research activities related to Dialogic Design Science awards up to 2 credits. The Evaluation Committee takes the decision.
Publish scientific articles Max 2 Being co-author in scientific article that involves Dialogic Design Science awards up to 2 credits. The Evaluation Committee takes the decision.

Certification of Certified SDD Facilitator

A Certified SDD Facilitator is authorized to roles. To apply for this status one should either already have, or comply with the requirements of the previous status. Application can be made, and certificate will be issued when at least 6 additional credits have been earned. Certification status is however fulfilled when at least 10 additional credits have been accumulated.

Additional credits can be earned in the following ways:

Complete advanced theoretical SDDP training Participate in at least one advanced training of trainers SDDP as instructor Serve as mentor of a Certified SDDP co-Facilitator for at least 2 SDDPs

Notes:

  1. The recommendation of the mentor is required for advancement from one level to the next
  2. Certificates are issued upon verification of at least 60% of credits required and payment of the certification fee.
  3. Credits earned are shown on the certificate
  4. Certification is valid provided the yearly membership fee is settled
