Al Jubitz is a long-tern friend and supporter of peace building activities in Cyprus. His Jubitz Family Foundation has supported many students of the Portland State University - Conflict Resolution Program to come and work in Cyprus for periods ranging from 6-12 months, including some of the following:

. Al has co-founded and currently funds the Rotarian Action Group For Peace with members in 71 countries. The Action Group works with Rotary International to develop and support peace projects around the world to enhance and enrich lives of people from all walks of life, races, cultures and religions.


A native Oregonian, Al received his BS degree from Yale University in 1966 and earned his MBA from the University of Oregon School of Business in 1968. Al retired from the family business (Jubitz Corporation) after a career spanning 34 years. He also served as a director of two private start-up companies. Al is President and Founder of the Jubitz Family Foundation which directs funding to organizations that foster peace building, environmental stewardship, early childhood education and building bridges out of poverty. A third-generation Rotarian, he is Past President and remains active in the Rotary Club of Portland. Al devotes most of his time to the War Prevention Initiative, a program of the Jubitz Family Foundation. Al has a vision to prevent all war by the year 2030. He works diligently to collaborate with partners in Rotary International, the Conflict Resolution Department at Portland State University and various grassroots and non-profit organizations to achieve this goal.
